Two days of excursion with 14 KM master students at Hong Kong polytechnic university in Hong Kong Region of the People's Republic of China was very fascinating and brought me some good experiences. Even though a journey had a few obstacles on the first day of arrival to find the hotel and finally it was cancelled because the reservation has not been confirmed. However, there was a positive side of this cacellation because a new hotel that we found later in the afternoon was cheaper and more convenient. This blog is intended to share the experience of our visit to Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited. After listening the company background and KM practices which several rewards were given due to its expertise and success, the delegates took us a company tour to see real practices of customer service department, KM room for learning and innovation, etc. A picture of "Dream Zone", for example, provided a very supportive and encouraging environment that knowledge workers can come to talk, share, and learn (Ba). Occasionally, many creative ideas are initiated and further developed and transformed into product and services from a discussion in this room. I think that some of the organizations in Thailand should adapt the idea of "dream zone place" and apply to their companies to fit their cultures.

ReplyDeleteTowngas was Hong Kong's first public utility. Today, they are one of the largest energy suppliers in Hong Kong so they had knowledge workers come to this room for learning and share their idea as well.

ReplyDelete"Dream zone place" is something that every agency and organizations should have. Because we have a place that is conducive to talking, sharing stories and learning together. The organizations are constantly evolving, and more new knowledge. The work will be very happy. If we'll have field trip, it would be much better experience and we really use the Peer Assist.
